WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – Captain Phil Mickelson led the way for the HyFlyers GC on Sunday with a 5-under 65 to help boost the team to a fourth-place finish at LIV Golf Greenbrier.

Cameron Tringale and James Piot had a pair of 4-under 66s in the final round for the remaining two counting scores, good enough for a Sunday total of 13 under. The team finished the week at 39 under, 10 shots behind victorious Torque GC.

The HyFlyers exit The Old White course ninth in the season-long standings with 32 points after 10 tournaments, but things are trending in the right direction. It was the team’s best showing since a fourth-place finish at Adelaide in late April.

There are three regular-season events remaining and the top four in the team standings receive a first-round bye at the season-ending Team Championship in Miami.

Here’s a recap of HyFlyers GC’s performance at LIV Golf Greenbrier:

BRENDAN STEELE (-13, 10th place)

Despite his Sunday round not counting toward the team score, he still shot 67 and set the pace for the team during the first two rounds. After a counting score of 67 on Friday, Steele blistered The Old White course on Saturday for a 7-under 63, the best round of the week for any HyFlyers player. Steele is 17th in the individual season-long standings.

CAMERON TRINGALE (-12, 15th place)

A model of consistency at Greenbrier, all three of Tringale’s scores counted toward the team’s fourth-place finish. In fact, Tringale is tied for first with Cameron Smith of Ripper GC with the most counting score rounds (29) this season. Tringale went 64-68-66 at The Old White course and has found some good mojo in recent weeks. After a tough start with only one top-10 finish in the first six events, he had finished in the top 10 in three of his past four tournaments.

JAMES PIOT (-10, 22nd place)

After a slow start at Greenbrier, Piot bounced back with two counting rounds of 66 on Saturday and Sunday. He rode a hot putter and finished T10 in total putts (85). The weekend scores resulted in his best individual finish of the season. His previous best was 32nd at Adelaide in late April.

PHIL MICKELSON (-8, 26th place)

The team captain rebounded from finishing 41st in London with a solid 26th-place finish at Greenbrier, and his 65 on Sunday was his team’s lowest score. Mickelson, who was playing with new Callaway Apex irons, shot 4-under 66 on Friday, which was his best round in his last five starts. It included four consecutive birdies from hole Nos. 9-12. Mickelson, who also finished 26th in the event prior to London at LIV Golf Andalucía, is 44th in the individual player standings.
